Miami born-and-raised, Melina Tsalikis is a conceptual artist whose work investigates the ubiquitous nature of personal histories. Tsalikis uses found objects and sound to tell the story of everyday happenings. She finds inspiration in her multicultural heritage and the places she inhabits in South Florida (and beyond).
Tsalikis has shown her work at the Florida International University Miami Beach Visual Art Gallery, the Laundromat Art Space, and the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum.
In 2023 her work was selected for the Bonnier Gallery’s MFA Showcase. She participated in a related panel moderated by PAMM curator Jennifer Inacio.
Tsalikis has designed and led artist activities as part of public programming for Vizcaya Museum and Garden's and The Wolfsonian-FIU.
Tsalikis is the recipient of prestigious scholarships, including the Berkowitz Foundation Scholarship, Faena Art Curatorial Scholarship, and Coconut Grove Arts Festival Visual Arts Scholarship. In 2023 she was a finalist for the Women in the Visual Arts Scholarship.
Tsalikis earned her bachelor’s from FIU in 2016 and she graduated from FIU's Master of Fine Arts program in 2024.
